• Lewis & Clark Keelboat replica ~ Onawa
  

  A major attraction is the full-sized replica of Lewis and Clark's keelboat Discovery, constructed by local volunteers. An authentic buckskinner in frontier dress is available to tell about the historic era.

• Loess Hills Historical Complex ~ Onawa Site contains 1866 log cabin, 1875 church, early blacksmith shop, fire house/jail, country school and Chicago NW depot with railroad artifacts and caboose.
• Monona County Historical Museum: Changing displays highlight pioneer and early settlers' history.

• Veterans Memorial Museum: Opportunity to see photographs, uniforms and other memorabilia from the Mexican War though the current day and items that relate to the many battles throughout history.

• Harrison County Historical Village ~ Missouri Valley Complex includes a pioneer village with many artifacts, visitor's center and gift shop.

• Museum of American History ~ Mapleton
  Former Church highlights important periods in American history with emphasis on our nations' political history dating back to the 1800's - open by appointment.
• Museum of Religious Arts ~ Logan
  Midwest's largest collection of religious artifacts reflects the culture and history of various faiths, a beautiful authentic Spanish chapel, gift shop, library, and theater.

• DeSoto Wildlife Refuge and Visitor Center ~ Missouri Valley In the fall this 7800-acre area of Missouri River bottomland is a stopover for 500,000 migrating ducks and geese. On display in the visitor center are more than 200,00 artifacts from the sunken steamboat, Bertrand.

• Pisgah D.N.R. Visitors Center ~ Pisgah
  Visitor center features interpretive displays of the Loess Hills, art, interpretive walkways and more.

• Ronk's Garden ~ Dunlap From early summer to mid-fall enjoy beautiful flowering gardens and native flowers.

• Dinner Theatres ~ Monona and Harrison County locations
  During the summer and fall there may be an opportunity to enjoy dinner and a play performed by players who are part of seasoned arts group in both counties.
• Agricultural Interests ~ Loess Hills
  Western IA Experimental Farm - Castana. See land conservation practices in the Loess Hills - to preserve this fragile soil that is subject to erosion by wind and water.
  Cattle Feedlots - Moorhead. Local pioneer families (Johnson and Moorhead families) operate these cattle feed lots.
  Jones Creek Watershed - one of the first conservation projects in Iowa in the 1930s, and perhaps in the nation, constructed by C.C.C. workers.
  Civilian Conservation Corp - site of first camp in Iowa circa 1934 - 1940 during the depression.

• German Haus Barn ~ Manning Enjoy the fascinating architecture of an authentic 350-year old German Hausbarn located on a heritage farmstead. See how German craftsmen reconstructed the barn including the roof made from reeds grown near the Baltic Sea.

• Danish Villages ~ Elkhorn
  Danish Windmill - The 60-foot windmill, built in Denmark in 1848, was dismantled, shipped to Elk Horn, Iowa and rebuilt in 1976. The Mill includes the largest Danish Gift Shop in the U.S. Danish Immigrant Museum and Bedstemor's House are nearby.
• Dorothy Pecaut Nature Center ~ Sioux City
  This nature center tells the story of the geology, plants and animals of the loess hills region of western Iowa. Located in Stone Park, the center is open year round.
